The link below takes you to a sample of the work done by a team of students as partial completion of their final project for an advanced web design course in Fall 2002. There are a number of places where this team did not do exactly what I was looking for, but their instructions had purposely been left somewhat vague to encourage critical thinking. Overall, this team did a very good job, especially considering that the project had to be completed almost entirely outside of class time. The students did most of their collaboration using the Internet (email, FTP, chat, instant messaging). One of the most involved members of the team was only able to show up in person for a single class session at the end of the semester.
This project demonstrated the students had learned principles of information architecture and had developed the skills needed to function as a team.
