If course materials added to the site have specific functional requirements, then those requirements will have to be met at that time and are not included in this list. One example would be a requirement for a streaming media server if streaming media were added to the course. Other than that, the functional needs for this course are provided by the school's WebCT software.
It should be noted that the CIS department could design a course outside of the WebCT system, but the school would probably not be supportive of this decision. The department also intends to eventually turn this course over to instructors who do not have a technical background and would not be able to independently maintain their own course management software. Therefore, it is deemed vital that all major functionality be provided by the school's chosen software (WebCT) so that the school can provide any needed support.
