While writing these letters this evening I've been listening to such programs as the news, Hit Parade, Fred Waring & Jimmy Durante and Gary Moore. That guy is still so crazy as ever although today's story about Twinkle Toes Grootch, and how he made the world goo-conscience was not quite so up to his usual style.
Meanwhile the boys have come back from the Canteen to join me in writing letters. For a drink, Lewis heated up some water and brought out about a hundred tea bags of which we each used one.
The news today seems pretty good with Japan being bombed again by B-27's and some being lost, Saipan being almost fully occupied & the Russians finally showing that they meant it when they said that after the Second Front opened up, they would launch a tremendous attack against Germany in the East. And those Russians are really smashing ahead having pushed all the way to Minsk over 135 miles and we are now closing in on Wilno and at the gateway to Warsaw - Brest-Litovak.
Another interruption - we now have two more passengers for our outing tomorrow. Milligan & Jerry Angert - they will also help in cleaning the jeep.
So-long,
/s/ Roman
