My Dearest Brother-in-Law, Friday
Thank you very much for your personal note writ by hand. How
true you were ---- there was nothing important in it and my
o my was it late. Please don't worry about my wooden leg
for I have stuck a harpoon on the end of it and now pick
up some loose change by picking up loose papers in the
Public Park. As for my age all I can say is that thank
goodness for the war. But tell me, brother, what does
your address stand for? The AAF is easy for no doubt
it means American Air Force but the B. U. has got me
down. Does it mean Bushel Unit or Blueboy Underwear?
Or AAF by Underwriters? And that F. C. S. is another
mystery to the uninitiate. Anything might do such
as Flying Crew Squadron, Funny Cavanaugh Squadron,
Fewer Colds Squadron or any of a number of things.
Please Feel Carefree to enlighten me on these
Burdensome Unsolvables. As for interesting news,
well we and the rest is censored and then there
was the time and the rest is censored and then
all that is censored too. So you can see for
yourself how things are going here.
So-long,
Brother-in-law /s/ Ro
