         TASKS. IT, OF COURSE, WAS SEVERAL MONTHS LATER BEFORE TENT

         FRAMES, ROADS, WALKWAYS, LIGHTS, WATER SUPPLY, ETCETERA WERE

         COMPLETED.

         

              OPERATION OF THE KM#26 QUARRY STARTED ON THE 20TH BY

         COMPANY "B", CAPTAIN MYRON C. TERPENING COMMANDING.

         

              CONSTRuCTION OF THE PAITA PRISONER OF WAR STOCKADE ALSO

         STARTED ON THE 20TH BY THE 1ST PLATOON, COMPANY "A", 1ST LT

         LEON LONDON, PLATOON COMMANDER.

         

              ON THE 21ST THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS WERE STARTED:

         

              CONSTRUCTION OF 8TH GENERAL HOSPITAL BY THE 2ND

         BATTALION, MAJOR PHILIP J. CLEMENTZ COMMANDING.

         

              MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF ROUTE #1 BY COMPANIES "A" AND

         "B" 1ST LT WILLIAM C. HANTON AND CAPTAIN MYRON C.

         TERPENING, RESPECTIVELY, COMMANDING.

         

              OPERATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF PAITA ENGINEER DUMP BY 1ST

         PLATOON COMPANY "A", 1ST LT LEON LONDON, PLATOON COMMANDER. __

         

              REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENT OF DUMBEA ROAD FROM ROUTE #1 TO

         8TH GENERAL HOSPITAL BY COMPANY "C", 1ST LT HOWARD J.

         BELLOWS COMMANDING.

         

              EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF DUMBEA ROAD NETWORK

         BY 1ST BATTALION, MAJOR DARYLL C. SPEARS COMMANDING.

         

              ON THE 27TH THE PAITA ENGINEER DUMP WAS COMPLETED BY

         1ST PLATOON COMPANY "A:, 1ST LT LEON LONDON, PLATOON

         COMMANDER.
