CIS 115 - Using a Wiki

Using a Wiki

This assignment involves editing a Wiki. The Wiki's URL is kishcis.pbwiki.com. Your username and your password will be sent to you in an email in Desire2Learn.

The assignment details are posted on the CIS 115 Home page on the Wiki. You'll have to do a little research, and then log in and modify the Wiki to add your contribution. I would suggest choosing someone to write about quickly and immediately posting that name along with your name to the wiki as a placeholder. Then you can do your research and edit that posting later to add the bio. The first person to get that name posted gets to post that bio. Any duplicates are worth 0 points. Any copying and pasting from the web also earns 0 points. You might want to check with the instructor to make sure the person you choose is an acceptable subject for this assignment.

Rubric

  • Bio already done by another student: 0 points
  • Any part of bio copied from another source such as the Web: 0 points
  • No posting made by due date: 0 points
  • Bio is about someone who is not very important in the field of computer science (you probably want to check with the instructor to make sure your choice counts): 0 points
  • Posting fits all criteria, but is superficial: up to 18 points
  • Posting fits all criteria, but is missing some important details: up to 24 points
  • Posting fits all criteria and is well done: up to 30 points
  • Spelling and grammar problems can cause deductions up to the full value of the assignment depending on how numerous and problematic they are.
